In the latest Quinnipiac political poll, President* Joe Biden’s approval rating dipped down to just 33%. In spite of his obvious disfavor with much of the electorate, Donald Trump never got so low.
Basically, that means that about 1/3 of the U. S. believe that Biden* is doing a good or acceptable job as our 46thPresident. Where are they? If one of every three support the job he is doing, why is it that it is difficult to find people who are vocally supportive of the President*. Have you seen them? Have you talked to them? We certainly haven’t in our part of the nation. You can still see flags, faded bumper stickers and logos which bear the name of Donald Trump. Biden stickers? Biden flags? Not in sight, yet Quinnipiac posits that there are a significant minority that agrees with the administration’s* agenda and accomplishments. So that means the following subjects are fine with those who are in that 33%.
Is it true that more than a third of Americans are fine with Biden’s* handling of inflation? When this ugly dragon raised its head last year, we were assured that it was only transitory. Yet it persists, with December’s figures worse than November’s, and has risen to a 39 year high of 7% year over year, and shows no sign of easing off. My guess is that if you asked the average Joe or Jill on the street about inflation, not only would you get no support for the President* on this issue, you just might have to listen to rather harsh if not obscene words about the situation. Where is that 33%?
Does one third of the nation agree with the situation on the southern border and illegal aliens entering the U. S.? Figures from the Border Patrol posit at least 2 million illegals have crossed the border, been apprehended or just floated into our nation. Under Trump, policies had been in place that had controlled if not eliminated such action. But when Biden* became our leader, the wall was scrapped, sending back illegals to Mexico was discontinued and the trickle became a flood. And none of this horde had to be vaccinated against COVID, in spite of us poor natives who are ‘mandated’ to get the jab. All sorts of people came over: those seeking economic relief, others who were fleeing persecution and the undesirables who wished to harm us. Just this past week, five hardened criminals were caught trying to get in, and the number will just keep growing. Now, go back on the street and try to find one out of every three you question who claims this is an acceptable way of doing business. So, again, where are they? Where are those who claim that our cognitively challenged President* has done a fine job on the border?
Now about to enter its third year, this pandemic has given no sign of fading gently into that good night. The quote from candidate Biden was that ‘I will not shut down the economy. I will not shut down the country. I will shut down the virus’. But he hasn’t, in spite of the fact he inherited three vaccines, and several treatments were effective. Yet more than a third of the country feel he has done a bang-up task in battling the pandemic. Where are they? Are they out shouting about the victory over COVID? Instead of the V for Victory, even Biden* raised the white flag! About that, where are the home tests for COVID, promised to be in our mailboxes? Promised, but not delivered, yet so many feel the President* is doing a great job.
Our economy runs along with goods coming in from all over the world, and they are stocked on shelves supplied by container ships, trucks and air freight. To listen to that third or
more who believe Biden* has solved the supply chain crisis, the question arises: why are there empty shelves in businesses? Why can we not get what we order delivered because it may be ‘backordered’ which is shorthand for some glitch in the chain? President* Biden claimed to solve the problem, but the hashtag #Bare Shelves Biden has been trending on social media. We are still waiting for a Christmas present for our granddaughter and her fiancé to come — delivery promised before the holiday. This in spite of Biden’s* Baghdad Bob spokeswoman declaring, ‘We saved Christmas; by solving the still supply chain crisis’. Where are you people who believe the President has done wo well? Where are the goods? Shouldn’t you take to the streets to proclaim the ability of this administration to get things done? (Why isn’t our new car, ordered in September, in our garage?)
Many are lauding Biden’s* handling of the fossil fuel production in America. During Trump’s years we became energy self-sufficient, but the new President* shut down the pipeline from Canada on his first day in office, killing thousands of jobs. Subsequent actions have held down domestic production, and just this week he made a major energy field in Alaska off-limits to exploration. Now, just a year into his term, we are again dependent on Middle Eastern despots for our oil and gas. Now we pay more than $1.30 extra per gallon to fill up our tanks, and will pay much more to heat our homes this winter. But still there are those who have cheered on Biden’s energy policies. Where were they? Do they stand in the gas stations and wave signs that extoll the rise in prices? If they support this President, why are they not evident?
This week showed many who praised Biden’s* speech in Georgia about election laws. In this, he talked of those who opposed his bill to federalize election as being on one side or another: ‘Do you want to be the side — on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?’ Painting Republicans (and anyone who disagrees with him) in this light was lauded by many, for he claimed to be on the side of right while those against him were aligned with Democratic segregationists, who have been rightly condemned by all. Other than some loons in the media, where are the ordinary Americans who claim they support this man?
What seems to be the truth is that only those with a vested interest in government will be in league with the policies of the Biden* administration. But why are they not proud enough of their stance to stand up and shout their support? Where are they?
