I don’t want to transform America. I think that America, at least in the heartland, is still the greatest place on earth to live. People of all races live next to each other and work with each other in perfect harmony, and when discord does arise, it is more likely to be based on something one or the other has done rather than the color of the person’s skin. When someone is in need, we help, regardless of who they might be. This is why a white Trump supporter (yes, I needed to say that to make my point) organized others from several states to go into Baltimore and clean up some of the rat-attracting garbage that the Democratic-run city has refused to clean up. And that is why those same white volunteers, who worked side by side with black Baltimore residents, are going back. It’s what we do, we Americans.
Still, liberals on the coasts want to change this country into something vastly different. They want to take away freedoms that are in the Constitution because they feel they are outdated. No one should be able to speak their minds freely, according to them, in case it might offend someone, especially a member of their ever growing list of protected “groups.” Can’t put up a cross because it might offend an atheist or a Muslim. Can’t call the incursion of thousands upon thousands of poor and criminals from Central American an “invasion” because it might be offensive to the law-breaking invaders. In San Francisco, the land of poopy sidewalks, you can’t call a felon a felon. He is now a “returning resident.” A parolee is “a person under supervision.” A juvenile offender is a “young person impacted by the justice system.”
I don’t want a transformed America! I want the real America back! The America where, through education and capitalism, blacks have gone from being slaves freed in 1865 to the point where, according to black columnist Walter Williams, if you called American blacks a nation, they would be among the wealthiest 20 nations in the world! Think about that! In just over 150 years, American blacks have gone from slavery to wealth: some are billionaires, some CEOs, some senators and representatives, some mayors, Supreme Court Justices, Secretaries of State and a President.
Yes, there are poor blacks living in rat and cockroach infested buildings as in Baltimore, but they are kept there by the Democrats, many of them black themselves, who run cities like Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit, and Chicago, denigrating the police who should be running out the gangs and drug runners, and preventing the children from attending schools that would actually educate them and allow them to join their wealthier brothers and sisters. Because capitalism works. An education and hard work still pay off in America, my America. But in the socialist America proposed by every single Democratic presidential candidate, every city would become a Baltimore and every citizen dependent upon a government sluggish to provide and insensitive to the real needs of its citizenry.
I don’t want that America.
I don’t want the America being forced upon us by the media, by Hollywood, and by the Democrats.
I want an America where I can speak my mind without fear of retaliation for having inadvertently hurt someone’s feelings.
I want an America where everyone has freedom of speech, not just the left.
I want an America where if the left wants to call conservatives bad names (as they do with great regularity) then conservatives can do the same (except, of course, that most of us are too nice).
I want an America where people judge me for myself and not the color of my skin.
I want an America where judges are impartial and where the Justices of the Supreme Court uphold what the Constitution actually says rather than use their positions to push their own political agendas.
I want an America where we can honestly debate how much humans contribute to global warming without the media and others on the left trying to silence those who do not hold their opinion.
I want an America where I can practice my religion without fear of ridicule or lawsuit.
I want an America where I can support a political candidate or the President of the United States without being in physical danger for wearing a tee shirt or hat bearing his or her campaign slogan.
I want an America where morality reigns.
I want an America where we don’t ignore science in order to pretend that men can actually change themselves into women and women into men.
I want an America that is not so barbaric that it murders our young for the convenience of the mother.
I want an America that stands tall in the world. We are not just another country. We literally saved Europe in two different wars. We are the most powerful nation in the world, and I want a president who recognizes that and stands up for us.
Despite his often unhelpful tweets, President Trump understands what America still is for millions of Americans like me. And he will continue to protect that America.
And that is why I will vote for President Trump in 2020.
