Enough cannot be said about racism in America.  In that point, I agree with the Democrats.  The problem, of course, is that it is the Democrats and not the Republicans who have always been the Party of racism, and all the attacks of “racism” lobbed at conservatives are failing to cover up that truth.  On the whole, this country is not a racist country.  Neither are we a far-left country, but the Democrats have swung far left in order to garner enough votes to help them seize power (though some shenanigans at the polling places helped elect a dementia-suffering old man who rarely left his basement to hit the campaign trail).  Marxists and socialists now control the government and they have always been racists, fitting in well with the Democrats who are following the words of Democrat Governor George Wallace in 1963 who proclaimed, “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!”

Democrats were, of course, the Party of the slave states and the Confederates during the Civil War. Republican President Abraham Lincoln first freed the slaves in the Confederate states, followed by the 13thamendment to the Constitution which banned slavery and which was conceived of and pushed to ratification by the requisite number of states by Republicans.  In fact, the 13th amendment became a part of the Republican Platform when Lincoln ran for re-election. As long as federal troops protected them, southern blacks prospered.  But when the troops were pulled out, the infamous Jim Crow Laws took effect ushering in segregation, and the Ku Klux Klan began punishing those blacks who “forgot their place,” often beating them up, burning homes and churches, and lynching black men with impunity and frequently for having done nothing wrong.  Segregation ended with the Civil Rights Laws passed in the 1960s, and while Democrats like to smugly point out that it was Democrat President Lyndon Johnson who signed them into law, they conveniently forget that it was Republicans once more who pushed them through Congress and without whom they would never have passed either house.

But all of that is forgotten now.  Sufficient time has passed so that only those of my age remember the murders of Civil Rights workers, black and white.  And only those of my age who know who the heroes and the villains were in the Civil Rights Movement.  And mostly those of my age, both black and white, who have tried to live by the impassioned words of Martin Luther King, Jr. who dreamed of a time when his children would live in a world where they were judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

In large part, we have arrived at that world.  In a world survey of racism in nations, the United States ranked as one of the least racist nations in the world.  The survey put us at about 4-5% racist which matches the 4% of Americans, who when polled in 2008, said they would not vote for someone for president who was black.  4% of approximately 330,000,000.  That is not very many.

But it seems that racism is raising its ugly head again among Democrats.  No, they are not openly forcing segregation on blacks, making them ride in the back of buses, drink at different water fountains, attend black only schools.  Oh, wait!  They are forcing them to segregate!  In California and elsewhere you can find black only dorms and black only graduation ceremonies.  Isn’t that segregation?  “Oh, no!” the Democrats cry.  That is simply keeping black in safe spaces where they will not be harassed by those whites who we all know, through Critical Race Theory, were born racists.  And yes, blacks attend black only schools, but that is simply because most blacks tend to live in the same areas of large cities and thus school zoning sends them all to the same, failing school.  And thus, it has been since the 1960s.   The Democrats know well that there is more than one way to skin a cat (or segregate minorities)!  Republicans under President Trump worked hard to push school vouchers which would allow those black children to attend better, mostly white schools.  But, of course, the parents of the children in those schools don’t want their children rubbing shoulders with those poor, black students, and so Democrat mayors have steadfastly refused to allow black children into better schools.  “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”

But as Democrats continue to lecture conservatives of all colors that they are racists, their own base is demonstrating their racism most vividly.  Attacks on Asians were widely reported and blamed on President Trump saying that the COVID-19 virus had come from China, which it had.  But suddenly mention of those attacks left the news.  Why?  Because videos showed that the vast majority of attacks on Asians were carried out by blacks, most of whom vote Democrat by rote.

As a part of the COVID relief bill passed recently, farmers who were struggling could get government money to help them – – – but only if they weren’t white.  No white farmer, no matter how desperately he needed the money, need apply.  The money was for farmers of “color” only.

Just this past week, Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago, the city of the myriad murders of blacks by other blacks each weekend, announced that she, a black woman, would no longer talk with any white reporters.  Only black and brown reporters are acceptable to her.  Whites need not apply.

If you lived through the Civil Rights Movement, those words echo eerily.  We have laws that say that she can’t do that and that the government cannot give money only to farmers of color.  But the current administration has no care for equality.  They are not color blind and have no wish to be.  Theirs is a world of racism.

Now, the exchange of fire between Hamas, the terrorist group which controls the Palestinians living in Gaza, and Israel has brought out all of the anti-Semitic fervor that appears to be common among a large number of Democrat voters and leaders.  Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) accuses Israel of deliberately killing children.  Rep. Cori Bush (D) refuses to speak to reporters from a Jewish newspaper in St. Louis. Rep. Ilhan Omar said “Bombing a school is a war crime.  Bombing a hospital is a war crime.  Bombing news outlets is a war crime.  Firing rockets at civilians is also a war crime.”

The first problem with Omar’s statement is that Hamas started the bombing and they have deliberately aimed at just the kinds of targets she is talking about.  The second problem with her statement is that Hamas purposefully stores munitions in schools and hospitals, and places their rocket sites in the midst of schools, hospitals, and civilian neighborhoods.  The third problem is that the Israeli command calls, on the telephone, to Hamas in the locations that are about to be bombed and warns them to clear the buildings.  When the building housing the Associated Press office as well as a Hamas office (“Gasp!  But we had no idea!” AP insisted.), they were called and given ample time to evacuate.  No one was killed.  But when an Israeli officer called one location, the Hamas officer seemed unconcerned about evacuating. When the Israeli said “But children might be killed!”  the Hamas officer said, “If the children need to die, then they’ll die!”

Many of the casualties in Gaza are caused as always by Hamas itself, either failing to evacuate when warned to do so, or because their rockets have misfired and fallen back into Gaza neighborhoods.  About 430 Hamas rockets have exploded in Gaza.

But the extreme efforts that Israel has gone to in order to save Palestinian lives even as their own civilians have died is ignored by the Jew haters.  And these Jew haters reside mostly on the left!  Republicans are the friends of Israel.  But on the streets of America, Jews are being physically and verbally attacked in broad daylight and no one in the government seems interested. A passing motorist who was armed (and thus likely a conservative) had to chase away a car-load of men hurling profanity and garbage at a Jewish man, his wife, and their daughter.  Neither the President*, nor the Vice-President*, nor the Speaker of the House, nor the Senate Majority Leader, nor the Attorney General has issued a statement of condemnation.  Racism is fine if it is your side that is doing it.  At least, those are the rules that the Democrats now seem to play by.

With such things being allowed to happen without a Democrat even speaking out against them, we are descending into a morass of hatred and inequality coming almost entirely from the left.  Any Jew who lived through Nazi Germany as a child and is still alive in the U.S., would feel themselves back on the dangerous streets of 1930s Berlin. Racism is rising in America, but it is coming almost entirely from the Democrats!
