Democrats act as if the riot at the Capitol building on January 6, 2020 was the most egregious thing that has ever happened there and certainly an assault on this country that makes all Republicans, by extension, terrorists who wish to destroy this country.  But they are lying.  On all fronts!

Anti-slavery Senator Charles Sumner was beaten with a cane on the Senate floor by pro-slavery Representative Preston Brooks in 1856. In 1858 a fistfight between about 30 Congressmen broke out in the House of Representatives at 2 a.m. when a southern representative grabbed a northerner by the throat.  In 1860, pro-slavery congressmen threatened an anti-slavery congressman with pistols and canes while he spoke against slavery on the House floor. (Just a note here:  all the southern Representatives were Democrats.)

In 1890, Charles Kincaid, a news reporter, fatally shot former congressman William Taulbee of Kentucky on the staircase of the House Wing of the Capitol building.  Kincaid has earlier written an article about Taulbee’s extramarital affair and the two had been at each other’s throats since then.  As a lobbyist, Taulbee was in the Capitol building and had taunted Kincaid that he better arm himself.  Kincaid did.

On July 2, 1915, a former German professor at Harvard named Erich Muenter left a package containing three sticks of dynamite in the Senate Reception room.  The explosions luckily happened during a time when the Senate was on recess and no one was injured. Muenter then went to the home of J. P. Morgan and shot the financier.  Fortunately, Morgan survived and Muenter was soon captured. He was protesting U.S. aid to Great Britain before we entered WWI.

On March 1, 1954 four Puerto Ricans entered the Capitol and made it to the House of Representatives where they shot five congressmen.  All survived.  They were demanding independence for Puerto Rico.

On March 1, 1971, a bomb exploded in the Capitol building, causing $300,000 in damages although no one was injured.  It was set and detonated by the Weathermen Underground in protest of the U.S. continued bombing of the Viet Cong in Laos.

On November 7, 1983, a bomb tore through the floor of the Senate wing of the Capitol building.  No one was harmed but the explosion caused $250,000 in damages.  The group taking credit for the attack called itself the Armed Resistance Unit and claimed it was in retaliation for U.S. intervention in Grenada and Lebanon.

In 1998, two Capitol Police Officers were fatally shot by a man who claimed the U.S. was plagued by cannibalism and a fictitious disease.

And on January 6, 2021, angry supporters of President Trump, egged on by FBI undercover agents, led a crowd into the Capitol, some through the front door and others by breaking windows.  One of the protestors, unarmed female veteran Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot by a Capitol policeman as she attempted to enter through a window.  No one else sustained serious injuries as grandmothers in the crowd took selfies in the Capitol building and others paraded about in costumes.  Not a single person who participated in the riot (fondly referred to by Democrats as an insurrection to overthrow the government) was armed. They were conservatives and thus the majority of them probably owned fire arms, perhaps lots of fire arms, but they brought none with them.  They weren’t there to kill or maim, just to try to prevent the certification of what they saw as an invalid and fraudulent election.  Was what they did stupid? Of course it was, and without the instigation of the undercover FBI officers they probably would never have even thought of it.

The day before, a man was caught on camera planting bombs at both the Republican and Democrat National Headquarters.  The FBI has been unable to catch that man in a year’s supposedly diligent hunt.  They have, however, arrested hundreds of rioters from Jan. 6, jailing them, fining or convicting some of them of relatively minor crimes, and leaving nearly a hundred of them rotting in solitary confinement with public defenders who are Democrats and a District Attorney who has not even charged them.  So, they have been imprisoned for nearly a year for purely political reasons and against the constitutional guarantee of good legal representation and a swift trial.

Democrats claim that January 6 was as bad as 9/11, a grave attack on the democratic principles of our Republic.  Considering that Democrat-approved BLM and Antifa groups commandeered  police precincts, looted hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of merchandise from stores, burned down entire blocks in some cities, beat up thousands of police officers, threw Molotov cocktails at them, beat up passing motorists and those who tried to protect their property, killed at least 25 non-rioters, and in at least two cities took over blocks of the cities for a protracted period of time, the Jan. 6 riot seems pretty tame in comparison.  Many of the few who were arrested in the summer of 2020 were immediately bailed out, often by Democrat members of Congress.

Democrats would have you believe that the riot on Jan. 6 was an attempt to overthrow the government over a lie, the lie being that the election had been stolen.  However, the rioters only wanted to halt the process until election results could be more carefully looked at.  The irregularities reported in battleground states were many.  In addition, Democrat election officials in those states refused to turn over materials which could have allowed the veracity of the vote to be proven.  Generally, a person who has nothing to hide has no problem with turning over reports to be gone over by a forensic auditing group.  The forensic audit in Arizona turned up ballots that had been run through the counting machine more than once and other problems but could not complete the audit because Maricopa County Democrat officials refused to turn over their paperwork.  In other states, paperwork disappeared or was destroyed immediately after the election.

We are expected to believe that 81 million people voted for a man who could not speak coherently all the time and seldom came out of his basement.  Even if all of those people voted against Trump rather than for Biden it stretches credulity.  The country, before COVID, was booming.  People were happy with the direction the country was going in and most believed they would be doing even better in a year.   Unemployment was at an historic low for minorities and women.  Businesses and manufacturing were returning to the U.S. NATO nations were reluctantly paying more of their share of their own defense. China, North Korea, and Russia were contained. New trade agreements had been negotiated which benefited American workers. We had become energy independent for the first time in decades and were actually selling oil and gas to other countries. Even with COVID, President Trump had pushed hard for a vaccine and Pfizer had completed the first stage of their studies before the election.  Why would 81 million people, many of whom had never voted before (if they even existed) vote to change what was a comfortable life for them simply because of President Trump’s “mean tweets?”  It seems unlikely.  Why?  Because Donald Trump got more votes in 2020 than any sitting president in the history of the United States, (Newsweek 11/19/20). And yet, with a country that had been sailing along comfortably before the pandemic, a vaccine soon to be available, and having garnered more votes than any other Republican president in history, we are expected to believe that the old man in the basement beat him?  Hard to believe.

What is not hard to believe, is that as of December 2021, if an election were held between Biden and President Trump, President Trump would emerge as the winner.  Biden’s entire first year has been an unmitigated disaster, and the Democrats prattling on about the Jan. 6 “insurrection” and calling all Republicans terrorists and accusing them of wanting to destroy the democratic aspects of our Republic that the Democrats themselves are hacking away at with an ax does not change a thing.  In addition 30% of those who voted for Biden would not have had they known about his family’s involvement with China and the Ukraine.  No wonder the Democrats kept him in the basement.

The Democrats’ lies about January 6 are no different from the lies they tell us constantly to cover up for Biden or to convince us to do what they want us to do.  There have been many assaults on and in the Capitol. January 6 was just another one.  It was not organized.  No one was armed.  FBI informants actually incited the incursion into the building.

Don’t believe what the Democrats tell you.  They don’t seem to understand the meaning of truth.
