Responding to a tweet by Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene about the unprecedented abuse of power in the raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, a Democrat called the Federal Bureau of Investigation a “trusted bureau.”  Obviously, this man has been brain-dead for the last decade and learned no history as a school child.  The FBI, despite the thrilling sagas of Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as the dogged inspector in the television series F.B.I., has less than a stellar record beginning with its days under the leadership of J. Edgar Hoover.  In fact, almost since its inception, the FBI has borne much similarity to the Gestapo of Nazi Germany, created by  Hermann Göring to spy on, infiltrate, and destroy political enemies.

On March 8, 1971, a group of activists broke into an FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania and carried off a stack of documents that revealed a sordid and corrupt FBI history.  They discovered a program called COINTELPRO (short for counter intelligence program) that recorded a devastating array of illegal actions by FBI agents including wide-spread surveillance of law-abiding American citizens and disruptive actions against political organizations and individuals.  Among these, Martin Luther King, Jr., whose hotel rooms they bugged.  When they caught him in compromising sexual encounters, they attempted to give the information to the press, but in those days, the press refused to publish such salacious news.  So, instead, they wrote King, advising him to commit suicide rather than be exposed!

When President Franklin Roosevelt had encouraged Hoover to look into Fascist and communist sympathizers in the 1930s, Hoover took this as the okay for a massive wire tapping undertaking.  And when Congress, in the same decade, outlawed wire tapping without a court order, he simply continued, but didn’t produce that evidence in court.  He kept copious personal files on senators, businessmen, even presidents, using that information as needed to coerce them into doing what he wanted them to do. From then on, the FBI has freely engaged in such activities, bugging meetings of groups the government doesn’t agree with, planting informers, disrupting organizations.  But it was not until the break-in of 1971 that proof of the extent of their meddling was proven.

As for recent history, we have only to go back to the 2016 election and the false dossier compiled at the request of and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democrat National Convention.  This compilation of salacious rumors and lies was given in a round-about manner to the FBI as proof of then candidate Donald Trump’s collusion with Vladimir Putin to sway the 2016 election in his favor.  The FBI quickly discovered that none of the material could be proven, but as those in charge related in email conversations, they were committed to seeing that Trump not be elected, and so the FBI falsely vetted the dossier to a judge in order to get a FISA warrant to listen in on all phone conversations of a member of Trump’s campaign team.  The ”collusion” story was then leaked to the press in a further effort to prevent his election. Then, when against all odds, he beat Hilary Clinton and became the 45th President of the United States, the FBI joined in the mission to end his presidency.  They failed.  But leading up to the 2020 election, they were once again able to use their clout in favor of their political favorites.

Joe Biden was the Democrat candidate for president.  A weak candidate, he seldom left his basement, and when he did he spoken to crowds of less than a hundred.  Meanwhile, President Trump garnered as many as 40,000 at one rally and tens of thousands at every venue in which he appeared.  Biden’s son Hunter, a drug addict who had long been involved in shady business dealings which may well have involved his father who was then vice president under President Obama, had left a laptop at a repair shop and never gone back for it.  After many months, the repairman, who had seen many of the emails on the laptop, turned it in to the FBI.  Word got to the New York Post who broke the story of emails that seemed to incriminate Joe Biden as his son collected money from foreign agents for access to his father.  Other conservative news sites printed the story, but the FBI, who had the actual laptop and knew that the information was accurate, remained mum.  Other Democrats who were “former intelligence agents” and had not had access to the laptop still weighed in publicly that the story was false, and eventually it died.

Long after the election, the FBI released the information that the emails were in fact on the laptop and that it was in fact Hunter’s and that they did seem to incriminate Joe Biden.  Hunter is currently under indictment, but word has been leaked that the FBI is seeking to protect him and that nothing will happen to him in the end.  A poll following the election found that 18% of those who voted for Biden would not have voted for him had they believed the laptop story to be true.  That would have swung the election to President Trump.

Also before the 2020 election, the FBI participated in a fake kidnapping attempt of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.  Although the fake kidnapping plan failed, the FBI was able to politicize it against Republicans in the election.  FBI informants also infiltrated the Proud Boys and according to emails between Proud Boys members, actively encouraged them to invade the Capitol on January 6 and were in fact present with them.  If any other police department tried this, it would be called entrapment, and thrown out of court!  Police agencies in the United States are supposed to investigate crimes that have already happened and then arrest the criminals, not instigate crimes in order to create criminals to arrest!  That is what happens in China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea and so-called Banana Republics!

When a Special Counsel and his team of Democrat lawyers were unable to produce proof of Russian collusion, Democrats tried another road in 2019 to end Trump’s presidency.  Following a phone call between President Trump and the President of Ukraine in which the President asked the Ukrainian government to look into possible corruption in the company of which Hunter Biden was a director, Democrats accused President Trump of misusing his position as president against a possible future political opponent, Hunter’s father, Joe.  It was an abuse of power, they said, claiming the President had told President Zelensky that he would only send aid if he investigated the Biden connection.  However, those words were not said, no investigation was launched, the aid was sent.  The impeachment, which was purely political, failed.

On Monday of this week, the FBI launched a raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Florida residence of President Trump. The raid was supposedly to obtain some papers that the National Archives wanted.  The normal procedure for procuring such documents would be through correspondence and negotiations with Trump’s attorney and then someone in a suit showing up to pick up the papers.  Instead, they waited until President Trump was away from home so he would not have a photo op, and arrived in full body armor with “weapons of war.” They had a warrant which they refused to give to Donald Trump, Jr.  and were loath to even show to President Trump’s lawyer when she arrived.  She was forced to remain at the end of the driveway and was not allowed to observe the search.  A safe, which could have been opened by a family member, was instead forced open.  It was empty.  They confiscated boxes including private correspondence which would belong in his presidential library, and mementos such as a cocktail napkin and birthday menu and pawed through Melania’s clothing.  Perhaps she had a scarf that was of national security?

According to Real Clear Politics, when Archivist David Ferriero was in the middle of supervising the transfer of important documents from the Obama administration to the National Archives, he found that a lot of key documents are missing. “Tthe accumulation of recent congressional testimony has made it clear that the Obama administration itself engaged in the wholesale destruction and “loss” of tens of thousands of government records covered under the act as well as the intentional evasion of the government records recording system by engaging in private email exchanges. So far, former President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Lynch and several EPA officials have been named as offenders. The IRS suffered record “losses” as well.” Yet, after six years, no FBI raid has been conducted on Obama residences to gather up those missing documents!

That this was an unprecedented abuse of power by the FBI is without a doubt.  But wasn’t it also an abuse of power by President Biden since there is now little doubt that President Trump will be the 2024 Republican presidential candidate?  Will President Biden, with unassailable proof of abuse of power,  now be impeached as President Trump was for the same crime though with no proof?  Oh, no, I forget.  President Biden is a Democrat.
