My anger against the left has been growing since Inauguration Day.  They rioted in Washington D.C., on inauguration day, pulling an innocent legal immigrant out of the car he drove for his job and setting fire to it.  And they called it a lawful protest.  They held a march the next day at which Madonna said “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House,” and they called it a march for the rights of women.  They have cussed out the President of the United States and called him a bigot and a racist even though he has already done more for the blacks and Hispanics in this country in a little over two years than President Obama even dreamed of doing in eight.

They complained about children at the border being held in air-conditioned buildings, with good food, real beds to sleep in, wide screen televisions to watch and lessons to learn and called it abuse when President Obama had kept them caged with blankets to sleep on on the floor.  They called the President all kinds of names and Peter Fonda, that poor excuse for an actor who tries to make a living on his father’s name, said that Barron Trump, the President’s young son should be locked in a cage with pedophiles.

Kathy Griffin, a pseudo-comedian, had a photo taken with a look-alike head of the President with fake blood dripping from it as if the President had been beheaded like the Christians and newsmen were by ISIS.  How many parents had to explain to their children, I wonder, that no, someone really hadn’t cut off the President’s head. It was just a joke.  Then the Shakespeare in the Park play assassinated a Caesar who looked exactly like the President in their production of Julius Caesar

Then the rumors, all of them proven quickly to be false, about collusion between the President and Vladimir Putin surfaced almost weekly and the media crowed as Russians and Russian companies (one of which was not in existence when they supposedly colluded with the President) were indicted along with several people who had worked for his campaign, all of them indicted for things which had absolutely nothing to do with the President or the election.  Yet the left was so delighted each time, they could hardly contain themselves!

Then they began harassing conservatives:  a young man wearing a MAGA hat had a drink thrown in his face and his hat stolen. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House Press Secretary, along with her family were thrown out of a restaurant because she works for the president.  They were quickly followed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao; then Senator Ted Cruz and his family. And Representative Maxine Watters encouraged the left to keep it up! How is it that a cake maker or a florist is not allowed to decline to participate in a same sex marriage which is against their religious beliefs without being sued and fined and all but driven out of business, but restaurants are perfectly safe in refusing to serve dinner to a group of quiet and respectful customers who just happen to be conservatives?

The left preaches to everyone else, even their own members who occasionally try to insert some sane comments, that we must love minorities and give them everything.  They tell us we can’t use plastic straws, we can’t burn fossil fuels, we really should invest in solar panels for our houses even if we live in areas where there is very little sunshine during the winter. They tell us what we should call people who look like men but think they are women.  They tell men they should be willing to date women with penises.  A large number of leftist women consider that if a man invites them out for a drink it is sexual harassment.  No wonder none of them get married! They lecture us about masculine toxicity, forgetting that men have proven themselves to be noble and self-sacrificing and have saved this country many times throughout history. The number of men who sexually harass women are few and seem to inhabit the halls of Congress and the east and west coasts primarily.  They tell us we can’t listen to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” at Christmas because the song is talking about a sexual predator and we can’t let our kids sing “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” or watch the cartoon version on television because it is about bullying.  They miss the whole point in both songs, but I’m not going to try to explain it to them because they don’t listen. Ever!

Then the Brett Kavanaugh hearing for the open Supreme Court Justice Seat came about.  Nancy Pelosi got a letter from a California professor who accused Judge Kavanaugh of attempting to tear off her clothes at a party when they were both in high school over 30 years ago.  She named three witness who could substantiate her story. Representative Pelosi, instead of passing the letter on to the Senate Judiciary Committee for investigation, waited until the hearings were over and the vote to pass the Judge on to the entire Senate for confirmation was scheduled.  Then, the letter was “leaked” to the press and the left went into full commando mode.  Kavanaugh was immediately deemed to be a sexual predator, an abuser of women, unfit for a seat on the highest court.  Calls for his immediate withdrawal were loud and passionate.  But Kavanaugh, secure in his innocence, and the President, too stubborn to give in before the evidence had been presented, held fast.  The FBI, eventually were called to question the witnesses, and others who might shed light on the allegations, even though the Senate investigators had already gotten their statements.  The three all held fast, even the “supposed victim’s best friend.”  Despite the fact that they had been present, they had witnessed no such incident.  Despite other unsubstantiated and highly suspect allegations, all of whom were proven false or highly questionable, Judge Kavanaugh was confirmed by the Senate and sworn in during a ceremony in the Supreme Court Building while crazed leftists pounded and clawed at the doors like escapees from an insane asylum. It should have been humiliating and shameful for the Democrats, but they cheered it all on.  In their world, their is no decorum unless they call for it, no innocent until proven guilty unless they are the defendants, no rule of law except what is expedient for them at that precise moment.

After the school shooting in Florida, when it became obvious that an officer on the scene had lingered outside the building while he heard shots being fired, when it became obvious that the school had kept an aggressive and dangerous student in school in order to stay in line with a ridiculous agenda put in place by the Obama administration, when it became obvious that the local police had been called more than once to the shooter’s home when he had become violent with family members, when it became obvious that the FBI had ignored messages of concern from those who knew the shooter and thought he might actually kill someone, then the left blamed the National Rifle Association and legal gun owners across America, accusing them of having “ blood on their hands.”

The hypocrisy rubbed against me like sandpaper against my skin.  I couldn’t understand how the Democratic leaders could stand in front of television cameras and deliberately lie to the American people about things like the changes to healthcare (millions would die), the Tax Cut and Jobs Act (only the rich will benefit), and the new requirement for working agehousing subsidy recipients (grandma will be thrown out on the streets!). I couldn’t understand how the average Democratic voter could believe them.  Granny is going to be thrown out on the streets because a healthy, working age adultis required to get a job?  It isn’t even logical, but logic is not a word that the left chooses to recognize.

I have had lots to say about all of this in the past, but all of these people, all these put upon conservatives who have been harassed, run out of restaurants, called despicable names, blamed for things they hadn’t the least bit to do with — all of these people were adults. But during the March For Life in Washington, D.C., the left went after kids, and that was just too much for me!

A group of Catholic boys from Covington Catholic High School had attended the march as they do each year. They were waiting for their bus in front of the Lincoln Memorial when a group of black agitators, the Black Hebrew Israelites, a group even the Southern Poverty Law Center (a far left proclaimer of bigots and racists) deems a black nationalist cult, began heckling the boys, calling the few black boys among the group “ni****rs” and shouting obscenities at all of them.  The boys began changing school sports chants to try to drown them out.  Suddenly a Native American pushed his way into the group, pounding on a drum.  At first they thought they were supposed to chant to the beat of the drum, then they became puzzled, and some of them, no doubt frightened, when other Native Americans following him began yelling at them to “Go back to Europe.” Finally, the drummer came up against a young boy who didn’t give way to him but stood his ground, so the drummer beat his drum literally in the boy’s face while the boy smiled at him.  As the buses arrived and the boys left, the Native American, Nathan Phillips, told a number of media outlets that the boys had been harassing and being disrespectful to him.  The media, virtually all of the media, ran with the story without checking it out, calling the boys racist and wondering what the Catholic Church was teaching them. The Catholic school and the diocese immediately apologized. But then the full video started to come out, two hours of it, some of it even from the Black Hebrew Israelite group and it became obvious that the kids were the victims here, not the adults.

And that enraged me. Why were these boys targeted? Because they were mostly white. Because they were from a private Catholic High School and therefore Christians.  Because many of them were wearing MAGA hats.  Chris Cuomo claims that wearing a MAGA hat is like wearing a tee shirt that says “I hate Blacks” and that businesses should be allowed to refuse service to people wearing them.  Actually, if people who hated Blacks or whites or Hispanics wore shirts advertising that fact, I wouldn’t mind in the least.  It wouldn’t intimidate me.  It would let me know without a doubt whom I was up against. And, despite the diatribes of the left, wearing a tee shirt saying “I hate Blacks” would be protected under our freedom of speech in the Constitution.  If we try to somehow punish everyone who says something that offends us, we should understand that someday we will say something that offends those in power and then we, too, will be punished. Robespierre led the French Revolution and oversaw the beheading of thousands of people in Paris alone.  But in the end, the Revolution turned on him, and he was beheaded as well. That is a lesson that the left would do well to learn.

As for MAGA HATS,  the Make America Great Again phrase and hat simply reflect the desire of many Americans to return to a way of life that allows them jobs, more money in their paychecks, trade deals that treat American workers fairly, and an America that is respected in the world once more, to a world where some Americans don’t spew hatred at others because of their political views and where Democrats and Republicans work together in Congress for the good of all Americans, regardless of skin color.

The hatred, the bigotry, the racism is mostly on the left.  They have tried to isolate groups by skin color, convincing them all that those whose skin is white hate them.  We do not.  Most of us would be as happy to live next door to people of another skin color as to people who are white, but many on the left have given up their conservative friends and some have even counseled women to divorce conservative husbands. Where is the love, the tolerance that they preach at the rest of us?

So, the attack on school kids was too much for me.  I don’t wear hats as a general rule, but I ordered a MAGA hat, one that even has the number 45 on it (for President Trump in case you don’t know he is the 45thpresident). It has arrived and I wore it for the first time today. Russ even borrowed it to wear into Walmart. I intend to wear it proudly and often because it is my protest against the bigotry and the hatred of the left.
