I am confused.  From 2016 to 2020 we saw record unemployment in this country, especially for minorities and women.  The economy was booming. The Stock Market repeatedly hit record highs. Inflation was hovering around 1%.  A tax bill left more money in the wallets of over 90% of Americans and companies brought manufacturing jobs back to the U.S., something that Obama had said would never happen.  Opportunity zones were created by Republicans in mostly Black communities to make it easier for Blacks to start or expand businesses. Gas prices were low as the country became energy independent for the first time in decades. Store shelves were loaded with goods and consumers were buying, feeling confident in their futures for the first time in years. The Southern border was finally under control and a wall was being built.

On the foreign scene, President Trump saw the American Embassy finally moved to Jerusalem, the capitol of Israel—a move sanctioned by Congress in 1995 but never accomplished by previous presidents who were all afraid of the repercussions from the Palestinian terrorists.  There basically were none. NATO nations began paying more of their defense costs.  Trade deals were re-worked to no longer penalize American workers.  North Korea was subdued. The ISIS Califate was destroyed and most of its leaders killed. Other terrorist leaders were eliminated, including a high ranking Iranian. Several Middle Eastern countries signed peace treaties with Israel, bringing stability to the region.  And best of all, the U.S. engaged in no new wars.

Then disaster struck.  We got Biden.  He immediately undid all the good that President Trump had accomplished. He stopped the wall and the stay-in-Mexico policy and over 2 million illegals have invaded, many infected with COVID. On-going COVID relief money  has produced a labor shortage that has caused businesses to reduce hours or shut their doors.  Stiff California regulations on trucking and the  vaccine mandates for truckers has reduced the number of trucks carrying goods and created a supply chain shortage which leaves store shelves bare.  Bans on fracking, drilling, and the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline caused gas and home heating fuel costs to soar. The inflation rate has gone from the 1% under President Trump to 6.2% in October, with no reduction in sight. People have little money for Christmas presents which is good, since the selection is severely limited. Biden seems hell bent on defying every federal court order enjoining the use of vaccine mandates. Critical Race Theory, under many names, is being taught in our schools, and the FBI terrorism squad has been sicced on parents who dare question what goes on in their children’s classrooms.

On the foreign scene, Biden has embarrassed the U.S. by bumbling remarks, flatulence in the presence of British royalty, a bathroom emergency in the presence of the Pope, and falling asleep during meetings.  He pulled our troops from Afghanistan, leaving thousands of Americans and permanent U.S. residents stranded there. They now admit that 14,000 still are trapped.

But while in the good times under Trump, writers complained in our local paper and reporters repeatedly moaned on television about how horrible things were and how our democracy (we live in a Republic) was being destroyed,  scarcely a word is said about the deplorable condition that this country has been reduced to under Biden.  Are they too embarrassed to admit they were wrong?  Or, do Democrats just enjoy being poor and miserable?
