I am angry!

I am angry that the so-called president of the United States is generally ignoring the worst military disaster in the nation’s history.  While thousands upon thousands are desperate to escape Afghanistan, was he in the Oval Office with Pentagon officials directing operations?  No, he was at Camp David on vacation.  And when he returned to give a “speech on Afghanistan” most of it was spent talking about rebuilding America Better through our educational system which he and his cronies are systematically destroying with their gender education and Critical Race Theory.

I am angry that he withdrew from Bagram Airbase, an airfield much larger and more suited to evacuating thousands of people that the much smaller airport in Kabul.

I am angry that when he withdrew our troops from Bagram Airbase, he had them abandon the prisoners who were held there including terrorists, whom the Taliban immediately set free.

I am angry that we have abandoned all sorts of expensive and lethal military equipment which the Taliban may use or sell.

I am angry that nothing was destroyed, including the fingerprints and biometrics of every Afghan who has helped the U.S. during the last 20 years, and which are now in the hands of the Taliban who are already going house to house to identify these individuals for later execution.

I am angry that Biden did not bother to inform our allies, who also have troops and vulnerable citizens in Afghanistan, of our abrupt departure and pull back to the Kabul airport. He has shown immense disrespect to our most valued allies.  When the Prime Minister of Great Britain called him, he was unavailable to take the call — and did not finally return the call until 36 hours later, no doubt giving his handlers time to write out what he should say to lay the blame for everything on President Trump.

I am angry that his horrific behavior at leaving not only Americans, but also those whose lives are now in danger because they helped us, impelled President Macron of France to lecture him on our “moral responsibility.”  President Macron had it absolutely correct!

I am angry that the so-called leader of the most powerful military in the world asked the Taliban if we couldn’t have just four more days beyond August 31 to get everyone out, and when the Taliban said “NO!”, he shrugged, said, “Okay,” and had another ice cream cone.  The last soldier will leave on the 31st, but I doubt that the last American will.  But then, Obama wasn’t much for bringing home American hostages, either, except for the deserter!

I am angry that the French and British have been going out from the airport for days, retrieving their citizens and transporting them safely to the Kabul airport while Americans have had to attempt to get there on their own, often being beaten up by the Taliban and having their passports and other identification stolen from them.  Only in the last day or so have the CIA and U.S. troops gone out in helicopters to begin to bring in Americans.  In one trip, they rescued seven – – -seven of the perhaps thousands who are stranded and terrified for their lives. Now Americans have been told not to try to come to the airport because the areas outside the gates are particularly dangerous.

I am angry because today, there were two suicide bombings near one of the gates, injuring many civilians and killing as of 2:56p.m. August 26, twelve marines, causing Americans again to be warned away from the airport and told if they were at the airport gates, to get away – – – not to try to get in.

I am angry because in the last eleven months of President Trump’s administration there was not a single American combat fatality. President Trump knew how to deal with tyrants and terrorists!

I am angry that when a reporter asked Biden about the danger to Americans in Afghanistan he replied, “No one has been killed – – – yet.” Well, now they have been, so what is he going to do?

I am angry that Biden warned there would be consequences if any American soldiers were harmed, and now that they have been, I doubt he will do anything but issue a politely phrased “Cut that out, please.”

I am angry because despite the bombings and the deaths at the airport and despite Biden’s threat of “consequences” if an American soldier was injured, neither the White House nor Biden’s Pentagon has made a statement. Cowards all!

I am angry.  Because I am married to a history teacher, I have watched scores of videos from World War II, from D-Day when we stormed the Normandy beaches in the face of relentless fire from entrenched German soldiers, and from the Battle of the Bulge and many other battles.  I remember that General Black Jack Pershing, after the WWI Battle of Belleau Wood said  “The deadliest weapon in the world is a United States Marine and his rifle.” And I feel for the solders in Kabul’s airport who are not allowed to leave to do what they do best and for all the veterans at home who wish they were there to rescue our people.

I am angry at the Democrats who conned many people into voting for a man whom they already knew was incapable of doing the job of president, and at his wife who allowed it.

I am angry for America, who is now distrusted by her allies and disdained by her enemies.  If our enemies don’t fear us, what new war will we be drawn into or will Biden just throw up his hands again and give up this country to China?

I am angry because a man who should never have been elected has made my country the laughingstock of the world.

I am angry!  And so should you be.
