A very good friend of  mine  recently told me that she didn’t care about politics as long as she could go on living her life and enjoying her kids and grandkids. She didn’t see much reason in worrying about who  was the next president.  The extreme socialist viewpoints of the Democratic candidates didn’t bother her, because she didn’t believe they would  follow through on them once they were elected. To her, they were only talking points to convince people to vote for them.  Once elected, she was sure they would return to a middle of the  road approach to governing.

I believe she is wrong.  Seriously, deadly wrong. This complacent view of the world has gotten us where we are today.  On the campaign trail in 2008, then candidate Obama promised us that, if elected, he would fundamentally change America. He talked a bit about income inequality, but for the most part, what “fundamentally changing America” meant was up to each of us to decide.

Blacks saw this young, vibrant, black-skinned man who was the product of a white woman and a black African as the answer to all of their woes.  He would raise those in the slums of Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C. and other cities from poverty to the middle class, they thought.  That would be his fundamental change! Instead, by 2010, both blacks and Hispanics saw their unemployment rates rise to well over 20% in major cities and not drastically fall until after President Trump was elected.

White Americans ignored the fact that Obama had sat for years under the sermons of Pastor Jeremiah Wright who, among many  racially  incendiary comments, once told his congregation that they should not sing “God Bless America” but “God Damn America.”  We hoped instead that Obama would bring to a final end racial tensions (minor though they were even by then) and that his transformation of America would finally bring about Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of  people being judged by the content  of their character rather than by the color  of their skin.  That would be the fundamental change! Instead we got a president who hosted Black Lives  Matter at the  White House even as they chanted “Pigs in a Blanket, Fry ‘em up like Bacon”  referring to police who were, as a result of BLM propaganda and the president’s refusal to back police up, murdered in random attacks by blacks across the country in the ensuing months.

Then we got Obamacare, which stripped people of their insurance and family doctors and forced them into expensive insurance plans that they did not want and which covered things that they did not need.  We saw attack after attack on Christians whose only crime was trying to live according to the Bible. We saw marriage bastardized into unions between those of the same sex. And we saw the start of the glorification of transgenderism. . . something which is biologically, scientifically impossible—a  fact that the left ignores as it ignores all facts which do not fit its narrative  of the moment.

We weren’t paying attention.  We were taken in by the handsome, eloquent young man with the  attractive wife and two cute daughters.  We were taken in by his message of “Hope.”  We overlooked his friendship with Bill Ayers, who had been a member of the Weather Underground, a Communist domestic terror organization in the 1960s that bombed police stations and even the U.S. Capitol building. We ignored the fact that Michelle Obama said at his nomination that that was the only time she had been able to say that she was proud of America.  We didn’t pay attention. We were complacent.

The  Democratic Party wants power.  When that was lost to them in 2016, they turned their disappointment into vile hatred against the man who had defeated the corrupt Hillary  Clinton. (I could do more than one blog on the corruption of the Clintons and their Foundation.)

While President Trump went to work, fulfilling 87 of his campaign promises so far in his first term (compared to 1 kept by Obama and 2 by George W. Bush),  the Democratic  Party and their Hollywood and media friends have  spent every moment trying to destroy him.  They started with the Russian collusion hoax before the election, orchestrated the appointment of a Special Counsel, appointed only Democratic donors to the Special Counsel’s team, and spent over two years and millions of dollars in order to finally admit that there was no evidence that they could twist into a collusion story.  They began crying impeachment on Inauguration Day.  Who could possibly take them seriously now?  They tried to get Trump’s lawyer to give them evidence for an impeachment.  That failed.  They tried to use a porn star, who claimed to have had an affair with the president years ago.  That failed.  The Russian hoax failed.  Now, desperate, they are going ahead with impeachment based on an ordinary phone call between the President and the president of the Ukraine.  They know they have nothing, so they  are disregarding all precedent and all semblance of fair play and holding their hearings in sound proof rooms and without allowing the public to hear any of the testimony except what they might say was said. Committee members are even required to turn in their cell phones before entering lest they might record some of the testimony and play the truth for Americans to hear.

Why are they so desperate?  Because as Rep. Al Green recently said, “If we don’t impeach Trump, he will win in 2020.”  This is their only hope of removing a duly elected president and prohibiting him from running for reelection as a Republican.  Thus, they hope the scandal of impeachment will lower his attraction to Republicans and whoever might then be the 2020 Republican candidate would be backed by a demoralized Republican Party whose voters wouldn’t much feel like going to the polls.  Then Elizabeth Warren, the current front runner, could sweep to victory and they could go about actually doing the things they say they want to do.

Immediately the Democrats would ensure that they would never again be out of power and that no court would ever be able to find anything that they did unconstitutional.  How would they do that?

First, they would open the borders and give to illegal immigrants every right that American citizens currently have, including the right to vote.  Illegal immigrants almost all vote Democratic, and don’t fool yourself, thousands of them are already voting illegally! In California, voters who turned up at the polls in several counties exceeded the population of those countries by as much as 40%.  Consider that: 40% more people voted than every man, woman, child, and newborn baby who lived in those counties!  Is it any wonder California remains solidly and foolishly Democratic?

Second, they would eliminate the Electoral College so that the heavily populated Democratic states on the east and west coasts would overwhelm the popular vote in the center of the country and the country would forever be governed by the will of the urban elites.  People living in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio,  Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, West Virginia, the  Carolinas, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Idaho, Oklahoma, and the list goes on, would  no longer have any voice in how the country was run.

Third, they would pack the Supreme Court by increasing the number of justices to 12 or more and quickly appointing left-leaning justices who would view the Constitution, not as the founders wrote it, but as a document that can be interpreted however they wish to interpret it.  This is how we got same sex marriage during the Obama years.

Then, having solidified their power forever, they would begin to curtail our right to bear arms, our right to free speech (it is already illegal in New York City to utter the words “illegal alien.”  To do so will send you to jail), and our right to practice our religious beliefs.  Democratic Presidential candidate Beto  O’Rourke has already said  that any  church who doesn’t believe in  homosexuality and same sex marriage,  under  his  presidency, would be stripped of their  tax  exempt status as a  starting point.  And when asked if  he would forcibly confiscate guns  of all kinds, he answered, “Hell yes,  I will!”

The Democratic Party now calls themselves the party of the non-religious.  In 2012, they removed the word “God” from their platform but then feared it would cause them lost votes, so they took a vote to put it  back.   No one voted  “aye” but the one taking the vote said,  “The  ayes  have it,” anyway. The convention  hall filled  with  boos, but they referred  to “God-given potential,” in the platform. Once.  That was it. In 2016, they managed to  reference God 3 times to the Republican  Party’s 15  references, beginning  with: “every time we sing, ‘God Bless America,’ we are asking for help. We ask for divine help that our country can fulfill its promise.” The Platform affirms what the Declaration of Independence sets forth: “That God bestows certain inalienable rights on every individual, thus producing human equality; that government exists first and foremost to protect those inalienable rights; that man-made law must be consistent with God-given, natural rights; and that if God-given, natural, inalienable rights come in conflict with government, court, or human-granted rights, God-given, natural, inalienable rights always prevail.”  Democrats believe  in government control.  Republicans believe in God-given freedom.

The Washington Post in 2016  called the  disparity  between  the two parties the God-gap.  And it  has gotten far worse as the DNC  has basically renounced God with their  “party of  the  non-religious.”  You can be sure that God will have no part in the 2020 Democratic Party!   And you can be equally sure that Christians, Jews, and Muslims will have no protections under a Democratic president.  A minister may  be forced to marry  a same sex couple or face a fine and possible jail  time.  More Christian florists, bakers, and wedding planners will be fined into  bankrupcy.  Why? Because, unlike conservatives, the left cannot abide those who disagree with their political views.  A conservative would  simply go to another baker.  A leftist will call the police.

Our children will be taught the normalcy of homosexuality and transgenderism, and perhaps, even sex between an adult and  a child. They may even be encouraged to experiment with various sexual deviances (my word,  not theirs) in  order to  determine  what they like  best.  There will be no morality taught, no right and wrong, because  morality has no fixed compass  for the Party of the  Non-religious.  What is morally wrong today will be morally right  tomorrow if they so deem it, because in their view, morality  changes with the changing society,  much like the width of men’s ties. What is out today is in tomorrow.  Nothing is black and white.  Sin does not exist.  Evil refers only to those who don’t agree with  them.

This is what complacency will earn us.  This sounds draconian and even dystopian,  and many   of  you who read  this will say that it could never happen, that I am crazy to suggest such a thing.  But millions of Jews  were murdered in Nazi concentration  camps because they couldn’t believe  things could get that bad either. And so, while  some of them  wisely escaped to safety while there was time to act, millions of others  trusted their governments to protect them.  They were wrong.   Don’t be like them.
