I am often bemused by the proponents of the “Theory of Evolution” and “The Big Bang Theory.” They imagine themselves to be so erudite, so clear-headed, basing their beliefs on “facts” and not on something as insubstantial (in their eyes) as faith. And yet, their own “facts” are both illogical and unproven. Any honest scientist will admit that at the very basis of scientific fact is something that can not be proven.  Theory F works if theory E works. E works only if theory D works.  And so on.  But if all theorems are followed to their origin, they will all arrive at theory A.  And no one can prove that A is true.  They simply believe that it is. So in essence, all science is based upon faith.

How very like religion.  But while the detractors of religion would scoff at our faith, I contend that faith in God is based upon far more evidence than faith in, say, Darwin’s theory of evolution.  Biblical writings tell us that God created man, the earth, the heavens, the stars and planets, the plants, the fish, the animals. . . everything.  Evolution tells us that out of one small bit of matter, cells divided and mutated until some became flowers, some trees, some lions, some mice, some monkeys and eventually, some men.

The greatest proof of the theory of evolution lies both in the fact that mankind has grown and adapted, learning to hunt and raise crops for food, and discovering fire for warmth, and in the fact that apes and monkeys, like men, walk on two legs and have fingers on hands and toes on their feet.  Unfortunately for Darwin’s theory, no one has ever found the remains of “the missing link,” the being that supposedly lies between the ape and man.  They have found bones of apes and bones of early men, but no bones from an ape/man transitional being.

Also difficult for the theory to explain is the lack of continual evolution.  While men and women have grown taller and stronger because of better nutrition, none of them has yet evolved into some more exalted being.  They still remain:  men and women.  Dogs beget other dogs.  Cats, other cats.  And when men crossed a donkey with a horse, hoping for a larger, stronger beast of burden, they got a mule.  But the funny thing about the mule is that it is sterile.  The only way to produce more mules is to mate more donkeys with more horses.

Okay, so one species did not then mate with another species to provide a third, new species which could then reproduce itself.  So the evolution must have been through the mutation of cells.  Ah, yes, cells even today mutate, but science can find no example of a cell that has mutated into something better

So the Theory of Evolution is just that, a theory, that while taught in schools as if it were fact, is in reality without proof of any kind.  It is based only on speculation and guesses.  How much easier and more logical to believe, as Christians do, that a Supreme, all-powerful Being with wonderful imagination and a delightful sense of humor created, one by one, all the plants and animals and humans who inhabit this earth. . . and in fact, created the earth and the heavens as well.  How better to explain the intricacies of the workings of the human body, the delicate blooms of flowers, the majestic reach of mountains, the gravitational pull that keeps our feet planted firmly on the ground and the planets revolving around the sun to create the seasons needed for the rebirth each spring of nature?  To believe in God, one only has to step outside and look around.  To believe in the big bang theory or the Theory of Evolution, one must suspend belief because those “theories” stretch the imagination beyond logic.

Had Darwin lived in the present day, he would have bolstered his theory with computer models, just as the proponents of man-made climate change do.  And like theirs, his computer models would fail to prove what he intended them to prove.  Global Warming scientists were forced to change their title to Climate Change because, in fact, the globe is scarcely warming at all. The Polar bears have increased in number rather than becoming extinct, our coastal cities are not underwater, and the ice caps that are supposedly melting may recede in some areas, but are in fact increasing greatly in others.  A species of penguins that were thought to have been becoming scarce because of “Climate Change” have suddenly been discovered in another area, flourishing in the thousands.

Climate Change proponents claim that 97 or 98 percent of scientists believe in climate change and they are correct.  What is not correct is that they all agree that man is the main driver of climate change.  Many, many scientists, silenced and mocked by the “Climate Change” pushers are coming forward to argue that while the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere may have some small effect on the climate, the natural and cyclical warming and cooling of the earth and the deep waters of the ocean have much more effect.  They point to the changes in the past.  In the middle ages, a sudden warming period allowed people to move farther north in Europe, to plant more crops in the longer growing season, to survive the warmer winters, and the population increased considerably.  And all of those new people began raising more cattle and burning more fossil fuels to cook their food and warm their houses in the winter.  According to Climate Change scientists, this increase in the emission of CO2 should have kept the earth warming year by year.  But instead, this period of warming was followed by what has been referred to as “The Little Ice Age,” a long period of bitter cold temperatures that should not have occurred according to Climate Change science.

These cyclical periods of warming and cooling are again the result of God’s creation, not of man’s interference.  But those who worship science instead of God must always ignore the “missing link” or the definitive proof that they are wrong.  How difficult life must be for them!

No one has been able to prove that there is no God, but the proof of His existence lies in every aspect of nature from the tiny, industrious ant to the gently waving branches of the majestic oak.  Who can watch the crash of the mighty ocean waves against the shores and believe that they exist by chance?  Who can look at the stars in the sky, the moon, the sun who all move through the heavens in ordered precision and believe that they were not designed to do so?  Who can look at the image of a baby within a mother’s womb, hear its tiny heartbeat, see its arms, legs, fingers and toes, and believe that the process of development and birth came about by accident? Who can live and not believe that it is God who gives life?

And when the end of life draws near, what is left for the worshipper of science? Nothing. Mere cessation of being.  But for the worshipper of God, death is but a step from this world into the next, into the very arms of the One Who created us, sustained us through life, and loves us unwaveringly.  For the worshipper of God, there is no death.  I choose to worship God. Which do you choose to worship?
